Film Talk: 'Stalin' Trisha Is Different From 'AMAV' Trisha

Actor Venkatesh who has always been known for his clean family entertainers, is now busy shooting for another one of them in Hyderabad.

This time paired opposite him is Trisha. Interestingly, Jyothika was penciled for this role earlier but she opted out of the film after her marriage to Suriya.

It is a role which is completely different from Trisha's role in Stalin opposite Chiranjeevi.

Trisha, the number one actress in both Telugu and Tamil cinema, today is playing the lead in Aadavari Matalaku Ardhaley Veruley. A role that she hopes will mark her coming of age.

"The title itself shows that it is a female-oriented film. It is very different for me. It is not the usual bubbly character I play. It is a sober character, little more matured character," said Trisha.

"It is about this girl and her circumstances that force her to do a few things. Everyone will relate to her at some point," he added.

Paired opposite Trisha is actor Venkatesh who says the many emotional scenes in the film have taken their toll on his eyes.

The movie will be released in February next year, which like many of Venkatesh's films will target the female audience.

Venkatesh is hugely popular among Andhra women because he does mostly clean family entertainers.

"The title itself has created a lot of curiosity. A lot of people have loved the title and it is also from a very famous song. It might have a flavour of my earlier films but my character is very fresh,'' said Venkatesh.

The movie will be much looked forward to because it comes after Venkatesh has completed 20 years in films.

Expectations will be high also because just like Trisha's Stalin is still running strong at the box office. Venkatesh's last movie, Lakshmi was also a super hit.

All these technicians are working for the Mahesh Babu Starrer 'Sainikudu'. Aswini Dutt launched Mahesh Babu with Rajakumarudu and he has taken almost 7 years to a movie with him again. Mahesh's next movie after the block buster 'Pokiri' is 'Sainikudu'.

Mahesh Babu and Trisha's combination has also worked well for 'Athadu'. They are back again. Gunasekhar and Mahesh Babu's combination has two films, amomg which 'Okkadu' is a super hit and another one 'Arjun' is an average film. But now Gunasekhar is very confident that 'Sainikudu' will be a super hit.

The year 2006 is the best year for Bollywood and it will remain as the highest grosser in the history of Bollywood with 15 hit films and collecting more then Rs. 1050 Crores.

With lots of hit movies like 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' , 'Krissh' , 'Fanaa' , 'Rang de Basanti' and many more in competition the Film Fare jury has to break its head to decide the winners. The performance of the heroes in Bollywood in all the films those were released this year was highly lauded by audiences. The career best performances are given by Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt , Salman Khan and many more.

Well, the Film Fare awards of this year would turn the heads of many indisputably.

Screen Talk: Theatres set to defy ban on dubbed films in AP

The row over the ban on dubbed films is likely to see a filmy twist with exhibitors (theatre owners) in the state resenting the ‘big brotherly attitude’ of the Telugu Film Producers Council and gearing up to defy the ban.

Exhibitors (theatre owners) in the state have made it clear that they will not honour the ban and will continue to screen dubbed movies.

An emergency general body meeting of the Hyderabad State Film Chamber of Commerce convened on Friday decided to oppose the ban. If the Telugu Film Producers Council had its way then hundreds of theatres, especially in the districts may have to close down.

“We will not allow this,” said K Murali Mohan, secretary of the Hyderabad State Film Chamber of Commerce. There are nearly 700 theatres in the ‘Nizam circuit’ comprising the Telangana districts. These theatres, he said, would continue to screen dubbed films.

It is not just the Hyderabad State Film Chamber of Commerce which is refusing to recognise the ban, exhibitors all over the state will defy it. In fact, the AP State Film Chamber of Commerce, the body under which exhibitors, distributors, producers and directors come, too is said to be opposed to the idea of a ban.

The producers, however, broke away from the chamber on the issue and announced the ban under the banner of the existing Telugu Film Producers Council.

“It is producers who will be at a loss if they impose a ban on dubbed films,” said Mutyala Ramesh, secretary, A P State Film Chamber of Commerce. “Our producers should stop making films that are like television serials and concentrate on quality films to capture audiences. When dubbed films are of a better quality, we cannot deprive audiences the right to watch them,” he told media.

Gossip: Siddartha's 'Shanthi Sentiment' Of Success!

Film industry runs on sentiment and it is common that many heroes look out for their sentiment theatres all the time. Some heroes also insist on their sentiment heroines and sentiment directors. Now, the syndrome has spread to Siddartha as well.

Trade reports say that Siddartha is crazy for Shanthi Theatre in Narayanaguda, Hyderabad. His film 'NVNV' had run successfully in that theatre and hence he insisted the release of 'Chukkallo Chandrudu' in the same theater. Even his subsequent film 'Bommarillu' was also released in same theatre with the interest of Siddartha.

Now, as per the fresh reports Siddartha is insisting MS Raju and Co to release his new film 'Aata' also in the same theater.

But why 'Chukkallo Chandrudu' turned a flop if sentiment is the only reason for his success!

Reel Talk: Prabhas and MS Raju for 3rd Time

'Varsham' is the film that brought immense star image to Prabhas. The combination of Prabhas and MS Raju received many encomiums at that time. But the subsequent film in their combination was 'Pournami' that failed miserably at box office.

Now, M S Raju is planning to make a hit with Prabhas and pipelined for their third tryst. Veera Shankar of 'Gudumba Shankar' fame is going to direct this film.

The story narrated by Veera Shankar impressed MS Raju and hence the film may come on to floors after Prabhas becomes free from Munna and Yogi.

"I heard that an Italian woman conceived at the age of 63. I want to beat that record and hence planning to become mother at 73. That is not so difficult for me. I never had a proper marital life (she was divorced from hr first husband Vinod Mehra and her second husband Mukhesh Agarwal committed suicide). Earlier I used to feel worried for not having children. But now I'm completely practical and leading life happily. I enjoy loneliness. I have many married ladies as my friends who feel envious of my loneliness. No one is completely happy with their spouses. Every marital relation is a fraud and runs only on compromise", said Rekha.

"In childhood I was worried as I was not allowed to meet my father (Rekha's mother Pushpavalli and Gemini Ganesan were not married). But I have good relations with my fathers children who came to this world through his three wives", added Rekha.

Well, she says that she is not convinced to listen to the words that 'Rekha is beautiful'. "Only magazines made me a beauty queen. I never feel so", she concluded.
