Ok, so it is more or less certain that Dhoom 2 is a hit. Wait! How can you declare that just a day after it is released you ask? Well, for one, the definition of a hit can be directly correlated to the ticket sales in the first week and believe it or faint, theatres are brimming with people and the movie makers are grinning their way to the banks.

On Friday when the movie released, a popular multiplex in the city which is screening 11 shows every day, had sold 16,000 tickets — several in advance of course. This means the screens showing Dhoom 2 are booked for almost a week and the ticket counters are only bustling with more people who want to get their hands on the most prized movie ticket of this season—this despite the movie releasing in a record 27 theatres.

With a movie full of bikes, races, hunks and hot babes roaming the streets of Brazil, do you blame the large young crowds thronging the theatres, even if it be a stampede-like frenzy?
